Anti Faro

The discovery that cards would alternately injog and outjog when sprung from hand to hand was made and refined by Christian Engblom of Finland and published in Genii, May 2001, p. 58. Christian's work was spurred by both the desire to do a Juan Tamariz false shuffle and also an idea of Lennart Green's. Lennart thought it possible to put a metal “comb” in the bottom of a tuck case that would push out every other card when the deck is inserted. Christian built this device and it did work (sometimes). Later he happened on to the more elegant sleight-of-hand method.

This is not to be confused with Juan Tamariz's antifaro dealing procedures in Sonata, 1989, p. 90.
