Mystic Twelve

This trick by Audley Walsh was published in Annemann's Miracles of Card Magic, 1948, p. 3, where it apparently appeared for the first time, as no previous publication for it is listed in Potter, The Jinx or The Phoenix. In this trick Walsh combines the principle of the Clock Trick with a nail-nicked key card to cue the location of a selected card and a selected number. Eddie Fields embellished Walsh's trick with “The Zodiac Card Miracle” in Steele's The Last Word on Cards, 1952, p. 28, where it is mentioned that Walsh came up with his trick “over ten years ago”. It would seem Annemann didn't get around to publishing it and it sat in his files until Crimmin's discovered it there and included it in Annemann's Miracles of Card Magic. In 1964 Nick Trost marketed a slight variation on the Fields trick under the title of “Astrologic”, through H. P. Wisehart of Columbus, OH.
