The performer divines the uppermost color on a cube placed by spectator into a close-fitting box with a lid. This magic-shop staple was manufactured by the Adams Novelty Co. and first advertised in December 1950; see The Linking Ring, Vol. 30 No. 10, p.5; etc. In the June 1951 issue of Tops, Vol. 16 No. 6, p. 20, the inventor of the trick was identified as Martin Sunshine.
